Agaseke Peace Baskets
The meaning of agaseke is peace in Kinyarwandan, the native language of Rwanda. The baskets are hand-woven by female members of the tea cooperative UMUTUZO North. They follow fair trade principles and use sustainable grasses for the materials. The basket design represents reconciliation and healing in a post-genocidal nation, and offers a symbol of hope for anyone in the world.
Choose from natural fiber with red, black, green or blue stitching, filled with white tip, black, green and silver needle tea from Rwanda.
Meet the cooperative and take a basket weaving class on the annual 3 Mountains Crop to Cup Rwanda Tour in June.
Dimensions are 6” tall and 3 1/2” wide.
